
Abdul “AB” Hassan
Abdul "AB" Hassan is the CEO and Founder of Mono, Africa's biggest open banking platform, serving Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa. Mono offers secure access to customers' financial accounts, enabling the retrieval of financial data, facilitating direct bank payments, and verifying identity with the explicit consent of customers.
With over a decade in tech and payments, AB has worked in various roles in product management and engineering. Before Mono, he founded Hyphen in 2016, an AI chatbot platform, successfully sold in 2017. AB also introduced OyaPay, an offline mobile payment collection service in Nigeria, based on QR and Bluetooth technology, before joining Paystack in 2019 as a product manager for merchant tools.
As a way of contributing to the ecosystem, AB has provided angel investments, support and guidance to more than 20 companies and assisting in preparing for the YC accelerator program.
