Dr. Emomotimi Agama is the Director-General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a position he assumed in April 2024. With more than two decades of experience in Nigeria’s capital market, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s regulatory and market development landscape.

Since joining the SEC in 2004, Dr. Agama has held several key leadership positions, including Head of Registration, Exchanges and Market Infrastructure; Head of Public Offerings; and Special Assistant to the Executive Commissioner (Operations). Prior to his appointment as Director-General, he served as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Capital Market Institute (NCMI), the SEC’s training and research arm, where he led initiatives to strengthen capacity building and deepen capital market development.

As Director-General, Dr. Agama is focused on advancing market integrity, investor protection, innovation, and the growth of Nigeria’s capital market as a catalyst for economic development.
